SlopScout collects zero data. No personal information, no browsing history, no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, no telemetry. Nothing leaves your browser. Ever.
SlopScout is a Chrome extension that detects and blurs potential AI-generated text on websites. It reads visible text on web pages you visit, runs it through a local JavaScript scoring engine inside your browser, and applies a visual blur to posts that exceed a detection threshold. All of this processing happens entirely on your device.
SlopScout does not transmit any data to any server. It does not make any network requests. It does not collect, store, or share the text it analyzes. It does not track which websites you visit. It does not use analytics services. It does not set cookies. It does not fingerprint your browser. It does not communicate with any backend, API, or third-party service.
SlopScout uses chrome.storage.sync to save your preferences. This includes your chosen sensitivity level (Minimal, Relaxed, Balanced, or Strict) and which websites you have enabled the extension on. This data is stored locally by Chrome and synced across your Chrome browsers if you are signed into Chrome. SlopScout does not read, access, or store anything else.
SlopScout reads text content on web pages in order to score it for AI-generated patterns. This text is processed in memory, in real time, and is never stored, cached, logged, or transmitted. Once a page is closed or navigated away from, no record of the analyzed text exists anywhere.
SlopScout requests permission to run on web pages so it can read and analyze visible text. It runs on X.com and Twitter.com by default. All other websites require you to manually enable the extension through the popup. SlopScout does not request permissions beyond what is needed to function.
SlopScout has no third-party integrations. No analytics providers, no advertising networks, no data brokers, no crash reporting services. There is nothing to share because there is nothing collected.
SlopScout does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
